The Natural Mask Story
My love affair with Living Libations has just grown deeper. Ever since I moved away from conventional brands in attempts to ward off chemicals in my skin care regimen, my life has become simpler and healthier. God has given us only one body and I want to do everything I can to take care of it. About 3 years ago was, I discovered Living Libations (LL) when I was searching for a cleanser that would heal my skin changes. Marriage had taken me from a humid place to a dry one, and no amount of money that I was able to spend was solving my woes of the climate change. My preferred brand was Dermalogica, even before marriage, which took many dollars bills from my pocket and still could not console my skin. I loved it prior and was amazed that it did not continue to deliver. It was as if I needed more and more “specialized” things from different brands in order for my skin to go back to how it had always been.
What I loved about using LL was the fact that there was no need to purchase additional things. With conventional products, I use to purchase: Cleanser, Toner, Exfoliator, Brightener, and Moisturizer. With natural products with pure ingredients all I need is LL’s Best Skin Ever. I cleanse my skin with it and use it as a moisturizer. That is my daily regimen, morning and evening, for the past 3+ years. It has been perfection. My wallet is happy, my skin is happy, and my mind is happy for not falling into the marketing trap of “you must buy this for your skin type.”
I had always been conscious of my skin and used to slather it with a lot of things like masks, scrubs, and everything I thought was good at the time. Make-up, bags, shoes did not take my dollars bills, skin care sure did! Sometimes I still crave extra pampering sessions. So it was as a birthday present to myself this year – hey, I did reach the big 3-0 – I decided to indulge in some additional self-care items.
The first things to go in the basket were these masks: Green Papaya & Lime AHA Mask (jojoba, rosewater, horsetail, comfrey root, red clover, lemon AHA, lime AHA, raw sugar cane, papaya enzymes, pineapple enzymes, orange wax, lavender, lemon, lime essential oil, sage antioxidant, rosemary antioxidant) and Frankincense Honey Mask (wildflower honey, frankincense, cape chamomile, immortelle). The Papaya mask is a beautiful white cream that offers the option of being left on overnight. The first time, I was quite stingy and subsequently became disappointed because I did not see a significant change. The next week, I was generous in its application, slept throughout the night, and rinsed it off in the morning. My skin looked as if it had produced an entire new layer while I was snoozing. Everything looked crisp and fresh!
The Honey Mask surprised me in that it was actually sticky like honey (it should not have done so at all as the purity of ingredients in all of Living Libation’s products is unmatched by anything I have looked at so far). I layered it on my skin, waited for about 15 minutes, and rinsed it. It just so happened that my husband was home that evening, I rushed out and he shared my enthusiasm. We both could clearly see how my skin had brightened after its application. It was soft to the touch – I might have touched my face a tad much that night. 🙂
Both of these masks are keepers! I have been rotating them every week and it has been a pleasure.
Lastly, I ventured into the land of hair masks. This was also an indulgence as there was really no need for me to get anything more for my hair care routine. The current LL’s Shampoo and Conditioner I use have been perfect. However, this item made it in the cart as an additional treat to myself. Go big or go home, right? The Honey Myrtle Deep Conditioning mask (organic coconut oil, structured spring water, sorbitan private, wild harvest seaweed extract, aloe vera gel, non-gluten oat straw herb, jojoba oil infused with coltsfoot, horse chestnut, horsetail, nettle & rose hips, honey myrtle essential oil, calendula co2 extractions, seabuckthron co2 extractions, essential oils of: lemon, slang, jasmine, sandalwood, sage and rosemary super-critical antioxidants) is a deep turmeric-colored cream that feels very light on the fingers. It feels like whipped body butter when rubbed between fingers. It is a bit oily so that every strand is covered, but it does not feel heavy on the hair. I left mine overnight after washing my hair and rinsed it off in the morning. Oh, it was love. I did not know my hair could act like they have been perfect all of their lives. They were soft, shiny, and relaxed. My naturally wavy hair, prone to getting fizzy if not taken care of, felt as if they have never tasted the harshness of frizz.
The reason I wanted to share these items with you was to offer you a pure option for skin and hair care. Of course, I am not being paid to share them with you. I tout about Living Libation at every opportunity I can get because it has made such an impact on my life. It solved my skin problems and offered me other products to take care of all of my self-care needs. It freed from the clutches of big companies who have profited off of thousands of people by offering them products laced with unwanted and sometimes even harmful chemicals all in the name of business and exploitation. The products I shared with you are definitely not needed. One does not have to jump ahead and buy these masks just to achieve a balanced skin and beautiful hair. These are extra things that just give you an additional boost if you are looking for it. I loved them just as I expected, and wanted to share them with you. Head on over and check out their ingredients and read their unique properties. I think you will love what you will find.
